New group starting:
Psychology of myth: what we can learn about ourselves from myth, monsters and heros.
We will be exploring the time when heroes battled monsters and the gods strode the earth. In this group we will be exploring the imaginary, in mythology, drama and film.
If you enjoy great stories and have a vivid imagination, please come and join the discussion. Using the knowledge base of depth psychology and Archetypal psychology we will be exploring some of the most fascinating and complex stories and exploring how they impact our current lives. To deepen and enrich our experience we may visit museums, view films and read together.
We will be starting with ancient Crete, the labyrinth, the golden thread and the adventures of Theseus. Readings will includes some of the inspiring work of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell. We will invite the golden thread of the past to help us create and decipher our own myths in the present.
As Joseph Campbell writes Myth 'it is the secret opening through which the inexhaustible energies of the cosmos pour into human cultural manifestation'.
We will be exploring the eternal drama,in an on going discussion group led by a psychotherapist, with invited Jungian analysts, film makers and creative writers.
